Joey Mines was born in Hartsville, South Carolina, on May 13, 1956. He Graduated with a Business degree from Clemson University in 1978. After graduation, Joey moved to LaGrange, Georgia where he worked for Milliken & Company for four years as a Distribution Manager.

In 1982, Joey pursued his life-long dream of starting his own business. He opened a sporting goods store and ran a successful guide service on West Point Lake. Publicity seemed to follow Joey and his fishing abilities over the next several months with articles as well as magazine covers featuring him.

As a result of the publicity, a local TV station approached him about doing a one-time show featuring West Point Lake. The show aired and soon became a weekly program. Since the initial airing over 28 years ago, Joey has done over 800 hunting and fishing shows throughout North & Central America.

Joey has teamed up with The Setting on West Point Lake to help promote the outstanding resource that the lake has to offer. The Settings is a gated 479 acre community that has all the amminities that will make this one of the top places to live in the country.

Joey is building a green house at The Settings on West Point Lake. Construction has already begun and will be featured on his show starting in January 2010. All of the phases of construction will also be on this website as well as video on the green aspects of the home.

Joey helped raise money for the Camp Sunshine of Atlanta at outdoors shows in 2009. This past year over $50,000 was raised for the kids @ the Wendy's Bass fishing Tournament on West Point Lake and the Raffle @ the outdoor shows. 100% of the money raised goes to the kids.
